"Special Events" occur during many of our normal excursions, and also at other times as noted in the list below. Season Passes not valid on asterisked events.

Some events require or recommend reservations. You can call us to make reservations, or use our reservation form.

27, 28* Sat., Sun.	BUNNY TRAINS. Departures 11:00, 1:00 and 3:00 each day. Adults $12, seniors (over 55) $10, and children 12 and under $7. (Babies under one are free). Visit with the Bunny on the train; children receive an Easter gift. Enjoy juice and cookies in the museum while you watch model trains. Reservations recommended.

1 Sat.	OPENING DAY/TRACK CAR DAY. Regular fare ticket buys all-day pass on the train and on track cars. Enjoy great train videos in the museum. Lunch items for sale. Plan to come and stay all day!
8 Sat.	BUBBLES IN THE BREEZE/OPERATION LIFESAVER. Bubbles for kids to enjoy on the train; program in museum presented by Operation Life-saver representative.
9 Sun.	MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH. Moms ride for $5 and receive a flower on regular train, or enjoy a special Mother's Day Brunch in the dining car on our 11:00 train only, $20 for moms, $25 for adults and $12 for children three thru 12. Children under three $5. By reservation only.
15 Sat.	WALKERSVILLE DAYS. A town full of yard sales, food and crafts.
22 Sat.	GUIDING EYES PUPPIES. Puppies on board with handlers will interact with passengers as part of a training exercise.
29 Sat.	SALUTE TO THE MILITARY. Vets and military ride for $5. Sign our Book of Remembrance in the museum and see special exhibit.

5 Sat.	CIRCUS DAY. Clown on the train. Face painting. Balloons. Fun!
12 Sat.	BUBBLES IN THE BREEZE/OPERATION LIFESAVER. Bubbles for kids to enjoy on the train; program in museum presented by Operation Lifesaver representative.
19 Sat.	JESSE JAMES DAY. Experience on Old West raid on the train. We supply fake jewels and money for the robbery. Caution! There will be the sound of gunfire.
20 Sun.	FATHER'S DAY BRUNCH. Dads ride for $5 and receive a small gift on regular train, or enjoy a special Father’s Day Brunch in the dining car on our 11:00 train only, $20 for dads, $25 for adults and $12 for children three thru 12. Children under three $5. By reservation only.
26 Sat.	MAGIC DAY. Magician will visit each child with tricks and balloons.
26* Sat.	MYSTERY DINNER TRAIN. Improv theater . . . "Win, Lose or DIE" presented by professional actors in an Old West saloon setting. Passenger participation encouraged but not required. Includes catered buffet dinner in lovely park setting, mystery to solve, and train ride. Adult theme. Train departs from the station at 6:00 p.m. and returns at 8:30. Casual or Western attire. Cost $49 per person. Reservations required.
30* Wed.	TEDDY BEAR PICNIC. Bring your Teddy Bear and your lunch to enjoy an afternoon of fun with Goldilocks on the train and in the park. Train departs at 11:30 a.m. and returns by 2:00 p.m.; $7 per person, babies under one free. Reservations recommended.
July
3 Sat.	PICNIC IN THE PARK. Take the 11:00 departure and stop off in the park for country music and lunch. Hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill at great prices--or bring your own. Great playground and plenty of shade. Catch the train back to the station at 2:45 or hop on a track car shuttle any time. It's Carnival Week in Walkersville and town festivities start around 4:00.
5* Mon.	STAR SPANGLED FIREWORKS SPECIAL. Visit the carnival in town, have dinner at the fire hall, then take the train ride for a view of the fireworks like you have never seen them before! Train departs at 8:00 p.m. Bring a flashlight and a blanket.
9* Fri.	STAR SPANGLED FIREWORKS SPECIAL. Rain date, or if you can't make it on the 5th.

11 Sat.	NATURE TRAIN. Park naturalist-guided tour of the historic lime kiln and nature center. An optional activity, $5 additional charge, offered on the 1:00 train only. Take your lunch and eat in the park if you wish. Catch the train back to the station at about 2:45 p.m., or catch a track car shuttle back to the station any time before 2:45. Reservations recommended for nature center option.

18 Sat.	TRACK CAR/RAILFAN/MUSEUM DAY. Ride all day on one ticket. Lunch items available in the museum. Includes guided tours of the "yard" to view work we are doing on historic cars and engines, track car rides, regular train rides, and special exhibits and presentations in the museum.
25 Sat.	CIVIL WAR REENACTORS. Union and Confederacy reenactors on the train and in the bushes trackside. Caution! There will be the sound of gunfire with skirmishes along the line and a mock battle at the park.
October
2 Sat.	FALL FOLIAGE TRAIN/LUNCHEON. Enjoy the beautiful Maryland countryside in the Fall! Luncheon served in dining car on 1:00 train only. Reservations required for luncheon, $25 adults, $12 children three thru 12, and $5 under age three.
